When To Visit Disney World

CONSIDER PRICE:

Choosing your travel dates - No one wants to spend more than they need to so let's go over price first. like most other vacation destinations, Disney has various pricing ranges based on the season in which you travel. The cheapest season or "value season" is usually going to fall when children are in school and vacations are limited. Price will also be effected by the days of the week in which you stay.

CONSIDER PROMOTIONS:

Right along with seasonal pricing is promotions. What special offers does Disney run throughout the year. Although there are some unique deals thrown to the public throughout the year the two most common promotions for the last few years have been:

The Free Dining Plan: Get a Disney Dining Plan FREE when you book a Disney room and ticket package at select resorts. 2019 Bounceback offers indicate a minimum of a 5-night stay with 4-day park hopper tickets will be required.

Room Only Disncount: Disney will often offer room discounts as well that have allowed guests in the past to save anywhere from 20-35% on their resort stay! That can save a lot of money for more magic!

CONSIDER CROWD LEVELS:

So now you have dates and pricing locked down, next you'll want to consider crowds. The higher the crowd level the longer you stand in line and the less rides you fit into one day! One way to determine crowds is simply to look at the seasons above. Disney often tends to charge less at times when it may be harder to fill rooms. Therefore, lower price, less people (generally speaking).

You also want to consider high travel times. For example, if you travel during the holidays, summer vacation or spring break when everyone else travels your most likely going to end up surrounded by people. If you travel when most people are in school then there's a lot better chance of less tourists and locals.

CONSIDER EVENTS:

Seasons aren't the only thing to consider when estimating crowd levels. Keep in mind that Disney hosts several events throughout the year that may cause a rise in crowd levels at resorts, and parks and may even cause some parks to have alternate operating hours during your stay. Events like the International Food and Wine Festival, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, RunDisney Marathons, and more.

Our favorite place to stay up to date on events is a site called "Touring Plans". You can find a link to this site under the  Links tab above! Get details above estimated crowd levels on our Crowd Calendars.

There you have it! The ins and outs of choosing your Disney Dates. Let's move on!
